Gates of Olympus Super Scatter

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter uses a 6-reel, 5-row grid and a scatter-pay system rather than fixed paylines. A win is created when at least eight matching symbols appear anywhere on the screen, so symbols do not need to connect across neighbouring reels.

The setting follows the visual style already associated with the Gates of Olympus series. Zeus stands beside the reels while the game board sits against a celestial Olympus backdrop. Players familiar with the earlier versions should recognise the layout immediately.

The supplied game information lists a regular betting range from 0.20 to 240 per spin and a standard RTP of 96.5%. An optional ante bet can also be activated. It increases the stake by 50% and doubles the stated chance of triggering the Free Spins feature.

The lower-paying symbols are coloured gemstones, while the higher-value symbols use a cup, ring, hourglass and crown. Gates of Olympus Super Scatter does not use traditional wild symbols.

Instead, much of the gameplay is driven by the tumble mechanic. After a winning combination lands, the symbols involved disappear. New symbols then fall into the empty positions from above.

If the new symbols create another win, another tumble begins. The sequence continues until a new winning combination no longer appears. One paid spin can therefore produce several consecutive results before the round finishes.

Multiplier symbols can appear during normal spins, tumbles and Free Spins. Their individual values range from x2 to x500.

When a winning tumble sequence finishes, the values of the multiplier symbols involved are added together. The resulting total is then applied to the win from that sequence.

This mechanic is especially important during Free Spins because multiplier values can continue building across the feature rather than resetting after each individual spin.

The Super Scatter is the feature that most clearly separates this release from the earlier Gates of Olympus games. Super Scatter symbols can appear on all reels during the base game.

A combination of at least four regular scatters and Super Scatters can trigger Free Spins. The number of Super Scatter symbols included in that combination also determines an additional payout:

• 1 Super Scatter pays 100x the bet.
• 2 Super Scatters pay 500x the bet.
• 3 Super Scatters pay 5,000x the bet.
• 4 Super Scatters pay 50,000x the bet.

This is where most of the difference in maximum potential comes from. The rest of the game remains relatively close to the familiar Gates formula.

Landing four, five or six regular scatter symbols awards 15 Free Spins. These triggers also pay 3x, 5x or 100x the stake respectively.

During Free Spins, multiplier symbols that contribute to a winning result are added to a running multiplier total. When another multiplier later appears on a winning spin, its value is added to the existing total rather than replacing it.

Three scatter symbols appearing during the feature add five more Free Spins. Super Scatter symbols themselves do not appear during this part of the game.

The standard Free Spins feature can be bought for 100 times the selected bet. The purchase causes four, five or six scatter symbols to land and starts the bonus round.

A Super Free Spins option is listed at 500 times the bet. In this version of the feature, multiplier symbols have a minimum value of x10.

For someone who already knows the series, there is not much new to learn. The main adjustment is simply understanding how Super Scatters interact with the regular scatter trigger.
